XPress Telecommunications has announced the launchof its new “Line 2” service, which will enable subscribers to own twodifferent phone lines with separate numbers on one SIM card within thesame phone. The two lines are able to operate simultaneously andalternately, with full features available to each. The service is the first of itskind in the Jordanian telecommunications market, as iDEN is the onlytechnology that allows such a capability.“This is the first time that such a service becomes available to mobilephone users in Jordan. The service will be of great benefit to those whoneed to separate their business calls from their personal ones, or requiremore than one line for business, or any other situation, at the convenienceof owning one phone,” said Ashraf Samawi, XPress Chief Sales andMarketing Officer. He added, “To date, two line services have had limitations in that theycould not allow for the two lines to operate simultaneously from the samehandset. Phones that can carry two SIM cards with two different phonenumbers only allow for one line to operate at a time, so there has to beswitching between the two lines, with one becoming inactive when theother is in use. In contrast, both lines from XPress can be operationalsimultaneously with full features available to each.”The new service comes as XPress further enhances its mobile phoneservice, which is offered in conjunction to its main Direct Connect service.“Line 2” is only offered as an additional line to the mobile service whilemaintaining one number for Direct Connect. The service is completely versatile and can be set to meet thesubscriber’s various uses and needs. One can adjust any of the two linesto receive incoming calls, while setting the other one to forward incomingcalls straight to a mail box. In addition, an independent voice mailboxcan be allocated for the extra line, enabling users to retrieve reorderedmessages made only for line two.Other features include receiving SMS, revealing phone number identity, conference calls, call waiting, and international calls.Users can alternate easily between the two lines by using the menu on thephone’s screen, which also indicates which line is being used at a certaintime. Moreover, one can differentiate between the two lines by assigninga different ring tone for each.“Line 2” comes as part of our commitment towards providing leadingtelecommunications solutions, both on a local and regional level, thatultimately meet our customers’ growing needs,” concluded Samawi.
