Red Bull X-Fighters Bring Back the Heat to Dubai

Mobilk - Today marks the official launch of the six-stop 2012 World Series of Red Bull X-Fighters as Dubai will host the inaugural round on Friday 13 April at The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence. This announcement was made during a press conference held at Dubai Marina Yacht Club earlier this morning.

 

Reporters and Media representatives watched Red Bull X-Fighters 2011 highlights, a round up video that revisits all six stops that were held in iconic locations, where over 235,000 spectators gathered to witness the “Flying Bikes”. The 2012 World Series of Red Bull X-Fighters in Dubai is supported by du, and as part of its entertainment platform ‘du Live!’, which brings to the UAE the best events in a ‘live’ format throughout the year.

The panel of Speakers included Alberto Chahoud, Regional Communications Manager for Red Bull Middle East and Africa, Doctor Ahmad Al Sharif, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, as well as, Hala Badri, EVP Brand and Communications for du and Ahmed Al Shehhy, CEO of Blink Events Management.

 

“We are proud to see Dubai host the opening round of the Red Bull X-Fighters international series for the second consecutive year,” said Alberto Chahoud. “A larger track, a bigger crowd and a more exciting show; this is our promise for the Red Bull X-Fighters 2012”.

 

Chahoud thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his generous patronage of the event; he also paid tribute to the local authorities and various sponsors for their great contribution.

 

Dr. Ahmad Al Sharif, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, confirmed: “It is a pleasure to renew for the second consecutive year, our support for organizing Red Bull X-Fighters which brings together some of the World’s best riders in Freestyle Motocross to show their outstanding skills this April. Red Bull X-Fighters is now one of the most important dates in the United Arab Emirates’ events sports calendar, and even across the Region. Dubai Sports Council gives all the support to ensure the continuation of this successful event, which has become a benchmark for all events in the UAE, and we are confident that Red Bull X-Fighters will be thrilling, exciting and entertaining event”.

The return of Red Bull X-Fighters to Dubai follows the success of last year’s event, which had, and for the first time, brought the world’s top Freestyle Motocross Series to the region and introduced its brightest competitors.

 

Starting in 2001, all 12 riders that make up Red Bull X-Fighters have continually ramped up the intensity. The heat will reach its peak with this year’s event. The 2012 all-star lineup of Red Bull X-Fighters will be announced on March 26.

 

For the 2nd Consecutive year, Red Bull X-Fighters Dubai is supported by du through the telecom’s “du Live!” entertainment platform, which brings to the UAE the best events in a “Live” format.
