Mobilk - Continuing its momentum within the global technology arena, Huawei has been named one of BrandZ’s ‘Top 100 Global Brands’ for 2015, marking the company’s debut on the BrandZ list. The achievement follows a spur of recent global accolades including Huawei’s ranking on Interbrand’s ‘Top 100 Best Global Brands’ list last year.
The BrandZ ‘Top 100 Global Brands’ list is developed by Millward Brown Optimor. The ranking system used for the BrandZ list is regarded as one of the most authoritative evaluations of brand influence basing brand value on the views of both potential and existing brand consumers as well as financial data.
Doreen Wang, Global Head, BrandZ, said, “Huawei has made it onto a BrandZ list for the first time. This is the result of Huawei’s solid carrier business and also its active expansion into the enterprise and consumer businesses. Huawei has invested in its global technology offering, demonstrated with two third of its revenue coming from markets outside of China. Ranking on the BrandZ list recognizes Huawei’s real strengths.”
“Huawei is honored to receive this acknowledgement from BrandZ,” said Kevin Zhang, President, Corporate Marketing, Huawei. “Huaweis brand value is realized through customer success. We always put customers first, and respond promptly to their needs by providing innovative products and solutions. We are committed to continuously creating value for our customers.”
Part of the brand’s success has been the result of a bold research & development agenda. Last year alone Huawei invested approximately 14% of its $46.5 billion annual revenue back into research and development programs. Huawei was even listed in the 2014 Thomson Reuters “Top 100 Global Innovators” list. Today the company operates in over 170 countries and regions, with two third of its revenue coming from markets outside of China. In the Middle East is Huawei has offices across 10 countries with around 5,000 employees—of whom over 66% are local hires.
This year, Huawei Middle East was awarded two Diamond Awards for smartphones at Distree Middle East. The awards were for the best smartphones vendor in the Middle East and for the company’s outstanding performance.
Huawei was also honored by the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute with the prestigious award of “Smart Solution Service Provider Excellence” at the 21st GCC Smart Government and Smart Services Conference. The company was also awarded by industry leaders with the prestigious title of Middle East “Wireless Vendor of the Year” at the sixth Network World ME Awards 2015.
