Qtel Group CEO Outlines the Future of Communication for Visiting Students
Students from Stanford Graduate School of Business hear about Growth and Future Plans of a Leading International Company

A delegation representing the prestigious Stanford Graduate School of Business of the US visited the Qtel headquarters, to learn about one of Qatar’s most dynamic companies.
Dr. Nasser Marafih, CEO of the Qtel Group, outlined the Qtel Group’s impressive progress from being a single-country operator with fewer than 500,000 customers in 2005, through to being the regional leader it is today, with more than 82 million customers and presence in 17 countries.
He also examined the challenges and opportunities facing the communications sector in 2012, and discussed the Qtel Group’s strategy for staying ahead of changing industry trends.

The Stanford delegation consisted of 34MBA students from one of the world’s leading business schools, who are visiting a number of key institutions in Qatar to learn about the nation’s impressive development.
Dr. Nasser Marafih said: “The Qtel Group has reached a key stage in our growth story, when we are broadening the scope of our operations to become a fully integrated communications service provider, using the growth of the last five years to deliver a better experience for all our customers.”
“We are pleased and proud to share this growth story with international business students, to help deepen an understanding of our company’s mission, and to share knowledge about Qatar’s ongoing success,” he added.
The presentation by the Qtel Group was part of an integrated programme, designed to educate participants about Qatar’s economy, history and culture and contribute to the development of global management skills.
Following the visit to Qatar, the Stanford delegation will also visit the United Arab Emirates.
