Samsung has unveiled the Genio Touch. It was launched at an event last night by girl band The Saturdays as it hit the shops in the UK.
The Genio Touch comes with one finger zoom that lets users zoom in and out and a function that enables them to unlock the phone by drawing a chosen letter on the screen.
Users can drag and drop widgets and apps onto the home screen and users can view friends’ status updates via the handset’s social networking sites notification feature. Other features of note include direct access to YouTube, Flickr, Picasa and Photobucket.
Samsung UK and Ireland vice president Mark Mitchinson said: "We’ve designed the Samsung Genio Touch specifically for the youth market. This segment is fiercely competitive and it’s a growth area where you can’t afford to compromise on features or looks. I believe the Genio Touch resonates well within this ever-demanding audience. We all believe the Samsung Genio Touch will be a hit and create a real buzz in the marketplace."
The Genio Touch is being supported by a full above the line campaign entitled ‘What Colour Is Your Life?’. The campaign consists of TV, out-of-home, print and a microsite http://www.whatcolourisyourlife.co.uk. The phone is available from all major mobile retailers in yellow, white, orange and pink, with the yellow variant exclusive to The Carphone Warehouse
