As part of its efforts to fuel the lives of people in Qatar, Qtel today announced its support for a new community campaign by Abdul Rahman Bin Jassim Preparatory School for Boys.
The project “Ifresh Masgedak,” a campaign to support the refurbishment of the school mosque, is part of a wider series of activities to instil an awareness of core values among young Qatari nationals.
“Ifresh Masgedak” encourages school students to participate in religious activities for their community. The aim is to strengthen their religious dedication and highlight the importance of good deeds and pious behavior.
Commenting on the sponsorship of the project, Hamad Al-Marzooki, Assistant Manager, Community Relations, Qtel, says: “As an active member of the Qatari community, we realize how crucial it is that we encourage people maintain to a connection with local roots, traditions, and religion, with a particular focus on the younger generation.”
“In a community that is increasingly exposed to diversified cultures and thought, we fully support the “Ifresh Masgedak” project, and we congratulate Abdul Rahman Bin Jassim School for such an initiative.”
Qtel is providing financial support for the campaign, as well as making a contribution to the refurbishment efforts.
Support for Ifresh Masgedak is part of Qtel’s wider CSR strategy, “For Qatar, Hand in Hand,” which aims to make a direct impact of local charitable and social initiatives in partnership with the local community.
Youssef Abdullah Al-Abdullah, School Licensee, says: “We are happy our campaign has grabbed the attention of Qtel. As a responsible corporate citizen, the company has been contributing largely to the development of the Qatari community, especially in the Education field.”
He further elaborated: “The point of the campaign is to raise a young committed and balanced generation who could easily find a place in this new digital era, while standing on the solid grounds of our long time honorable values and tradition. We want each one of them to be a good ambassador to his country and Islam, especially with the current stereotyped image of Muslims around the world.”
Since the launch of its refreshed brand “Fuel your senses”, last December, Qtel has participated in several school activities to help refuel education in Qatar. From contests to renovations efforts, the company has been a consistent supporter of community development initiatives.
