Mobilk - Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC)  was recently recognized as a 2012 machine-to-machine (M2M) Evolution Product of the Year award winner for its Connected Vehicle Cloud, celebrating the company’s exceptional innovation driving the machine to machine market today. This innovation, along with other M2M insights and analysis, will be discussed by Ericsson during the Networked Society Forum on September 22 in Dubai.

"Drivers want the same services they have at home, while on the road. The Connecting Vehicle Cloud answers this consumer wish, by offering a new, innovative business model that introduces connectivity to the automotive ecosystem," said Anders Lindblad, president of Region Middle East and Africa, Ericsson. "The Connected Vehicle Cloud builds on today’s telecom network capabilities and delivers dramatically improved quality of experience, creating new business opportunities for the automotive industry and new M2M revenue streams for operators. In this way, it is creating a platform for innovation that will help advance the Networked Society."

Ericsson’s Connected Vehicle Cloud delivers significant opportunity for automotive industry stakeholders to reach drivers and passengers in new ways.  Based on the Ericsson Service Enablement Platform, it connects application developers, content and service providers, insurance companies, government organizations, service and repair centers, dealers, automotive manufacturers and consumers. It targets existing and future demands on scalability, security and flexibility in the global automotive industry. The car is becoming part of the connected life. The result is a transformed driving experience and new opportunities for players in the automotive ecosystem.

"The solutions selected for the M2M Evolution Product of Year Awards reflect the diverse range of innovation driving the machine to machine market today. It is my honor to congratulate Ericsson for their innovative work and superior contribution to the rapidly evolving M2M industry," said Carl Ford, CEO of Crossfire Media, a co-publisher of M2M Evolution Magazine.

Technology trends and innovations, including M2M technologies, will be discussed on September 22 at the Ericsson Networked Society Forum, held at The Atlantis.
