Zain SA showcases its experience in building networks to faculty at King Saud University

Zain Saudi Arabia recently showcased its unique experience in building advanced 3G communication networks to faculty and students of the engineering faculty headquarters at King Saud University in the city of Riyadh.

Engineer Ahmad Al-Ghanimi, general manager of Network Operations at Zain Saudi Arabia, gave a detailed presentation about the stages of building a private advanced network for Zain Saudi Arabia in the Kingdom, by using GSM technologies.   He also highlighted the global development of the GSM technology throughout the past periods and emphasized its high and up-to-date specifications.  He touched on the future vision and expectations in the development of this technology and how it can be harnessed to provide customers with the most superior services.

During the presentation, Al-Ghanimi touched on the great capabilities enjoyed by Zain Saudi Arabia in building networks and preparing the necessary integrated infrastructure to provide mobile communication services at the highest level of quality, and to its expansion history which enabled it to have an effective presence in 24 countries in the MENA region, thus becoming the fourth largest communication company in world from the geographic coverage point of view.

This meeting falls within the framework of cooperation between Zain and the educational sector in the Kingdom, be it universities, academies or colleges.  Prior to operating its commercial services in the Kingdom and emanating from its belief in corporate social responsibility to support all societal sectors in Saudi Arabia, Zain Saudi Arabia had signed several agreements with the Kingdom’s universities and research centers to provide its students and researchers with the needed support in securing further development in the communications industry.

Technical presentations delivered within the King Saud University came as a result of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) previously signed between the University and Zain Saudi Arabia. This MOU aims to consolidate efforts and benefit from each other’s capabilities and exchange experiences in an effort to support the educational progress in the Kingdom.
