Batelco, as part of its commitment to education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently welcomed a group of technical students from the University of Bahrain (UoB) to learn more about Batelco’s Mobile Network.
The group and their professor, Dr. Hisham Al Rawi attended a welcome session at Batelco’s Knowledge Hub, given by Batelco GM Enterprise & Government Division Dr. Abdulla Al Thawadi. A presentation on Batelco’s Core Network followed before the group travelled to Batelco’s Telegraph House and Telephone House at Salmaniya where they were able to experience Batelco’s NGN (Next Generation Network) first hand. While there, they also attended further presentations on Batelco’s NGN, Datacoms and MPLS provisioning. Batelco Knowledge Hub trainers and Mobile Network staff conducted the training sessions.
The visit was held as an initial training and familiarisation day to introduce the UoB students to the capabilities of Batelco’s Mobile Network. Plans are already in place for further training sessions at Batelco Knowledge Hub to complete the students’ training on the mobile network, which is regarded as amongst the most advanced networks in the region.
It is also expected that further batches of students will avail of Mobile Network training sessions at Batelco later in the year.
UoB officials extended their appreciation to Batelco for the valuable opportunity given to their students to avail of mobile network training conducted by Batelco’s skilled trainers and technical teams.
“Batelco has formed strong links with the University of Bahrain over many years and we are always delighted to welcome their students to our premises in order to help them further their education,” said Batelco Group GM Media & Government Relations Ahmed Al Janahi.
