Qtel announced today that it has launched the popular Almajd religious channels for its Mozaic TV + service and will make ten Almajd channels available for free during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Evening television viewing has become an important part of Ramadan family life for many in Qatar, with particular interest in programming that has strong religious and spiritual content. By adding Almajd channels to the Mozaic TV + service, Qtel aims to provide an additional range of viewing options.
Almajd’s mix of general interest and specialized programming has proven popular across the region, particularly the Holy Qu’ran, Islamic Science, Documentary and World Today channels. As part of the Mozaic TV+ promotion, four of Almajd’s free-to-air and six Pay TV channels will all be available for free throughout Ramadan.
New and existing subscribers to the Mozaic TV + Prime Arabia can access the channels immediately, while Prime Asia subscribers can activate the service by calling the Qtel Call Centre on 111.
“As well as our leadership role in providing communication services, Qtel also looks to offer entertainment in Qatar. During Ramadan, we wanted to ensure that more spiritual fare was included in the range of channels available to our customers,” said Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director of Group Communications, Qtel.
“We are very pleased with the addition of the Almajd channels to the existing range of programming available on Mozaic TV +, and are proud to be able to offer this service for free during the Holy Month,” he added.
Almajd offers a complete range of religious and entertainment channels for the whole family. The channels will also be available in a range of special packages after Ramadan, to enable people to continue watching the channels, including free access to the free-to-air channels as part of the Mozaic + Arabia basic package.
A dedicated Almajd Bouquet promotion will offer the free-to-air channels and six encrypted specialist channels for a reduced price of QR 60, a saving of QR 25. Alternately, the six Al majd channels within the Almajd Bouquet will also be available as A la Carte channels, to provide more flexibility and choice. For more information, customers can call the Qtel Call Centre on 111.
The Mozaic TV+ service is a “Triple Play” service, which brings together high quality voice services, Digital Broadcast TV delivered using Internet Protocol technologies and Broadband Internet access with WiFi, all through one ADSL line. The service offers access to 125 digital TV channels and provides full parental control to manage channel availability.
