Telecom Leaders Explore New Platforms to Light Up Customers’ Digital World

Huawei brings to life new scenarios focusing on connected, agile and smart services during Zain Technology Conference 2015

Mobilk - During this week’s annual Zain Technology Conference 2015, senior executives and experts from Huawei—a leading global ICT solutions provider—have showcased a number of future-oriented mobile technologies that  are anticipated to light up consumers’ digital world over the next decade through more connected, agile and smarter services.

The three-day Zain Technology Conference brings together Zain’s global partners as part of its drive to build a sustainable digital communications company serving consumers and enterprises with a rich lifestyle experience. This year’s program outlines the very latest services in the telecommunications and IT field while at the same time highlighting opportunities of mutual interest between Zain’s numerous partners and service providers.

As a longstanding global partner of Zain, Huawei presented technologies under the theme of “Light Up Your Digital World” spread over three dedicated zones including a Connected Zone, an Agile Zone, and a Smart Zone; all areas where the company anticipates life in the Middle East will be changed over the coming decade.

One of the key features of this year’s conference is the Huawei demo zones. The Connected Zone showcases recent breakthroughs in 4.5G and 5G mobile broadband services, which are set to open up massive connection capacity for operators and pave the way for operators to deliver richer multimedia services with fewer delays. Meanwhile the Agile Zone introduces how enterprises as well as governments can quickly move to future-proof their IT networks using solutions like SoftCom, Network Function Virtualization, and Software-Defined Networking. In addition, the company’s Smart Zone investigates upcoming applications for more intelligent parking systems, metering, payments, and other virtual-reality apps that are starting to being realized around the world.

Zain and Huawei have a long history of collaboration in the Middle East across a wide range of telecommunication services. In recent years the two companies have focused on areas such as the customer experience, operational effectiveness, value management, B2B services, digital innovation and talent development. 

Since 2010 Huawei has been a steadfast partner in the rollout of mobile broadband for Zain across all its operations. Just this year the companies have signed a series of agreements including a partnership to develop Zain’s virtual network strategy for the region, to trial and implement 4.5G services on Zain Kuwait’s network, as well as create more advanced mobile broadband experiences in Saudi Arabia through the first commercial LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation network.
