Zain Bahrain announces the launch of a new and exclusive Ramadan services

The Holy Month of Ramadan is upon us and at Zain Bahrain, a number of services and fun contests have been lined up that will keep customers engaged in improving their knowledge and in understanding the spirit of the Holy Month.

Top of the list is a series of fun daily quiz contests via SMS with daily handset, shopping voucher prizes for winners and cash and a charity donation campaign that will generate resources for children with special needs and MMS and SMS services with clips from the Holy Qu’ran as well as downloadable ring back tunes centering around the spirit of religious focus.

“Ramadan is a time when knowledge is highlighted and we have done so by designing fun quizzes with competitions and prizes” said VAS and Data Product Innovator at Zain Bahrain Ms. Fatima Haidar.

Another knowledge game is the Zain SMS Competition which will test the general knowledge of the contestant with BD 1600 worth of prizes. All users have to do is register for the quiz by sending the word “go” to 77428. S/he will get questions with multiple choice answers to choose from. The user gets 3 points for every correct answer and 1 point for every wrong answer. There will be a Top Winner for the Week who will win BD 150 and 5 weekly winners who will get BD 50 each for generating the maximum points for the day.

In Zain’s Secret Number Game, the customer gets three chances to guess the secret number that has been randomly generated for that session. If he fails to guess the number, the game re-starts and a new secret number is again decided by the system for the next 3 tries, for that specific customer. To enter this game, customers can type in the keywords SECRET and GUESS and send to 88383. To add to the fun, customers can send the word HINT to get hints on the correct secret number while playing the game. There will be a daily winner who will win a handset.

MMS Afassi
In keeping with the mood of piety during the Holy Month, Zain Bahrain has also designed several services to bring the wisdom of the Holy Qur’an to customers. In continuation to the success of this introduced service of beautifully voiced readings through which Zain subscribers can listen and see the Recitation of the Koran, Hadeeth, Anasheed & Athkar as read by Shaikh Meshari Alaffasi.

Customers can subscribe by simply sending D to 88118 and unsubscribe by typing the word STOPD and sending to the same number.

“We are also offering the MMS service of Ejaz al Qu’ran which are records of the miracles in the Holy Qu’ran, secrets of healing, the power of fasting etc,” said Ms. Fatima Haidar, “These can be subscribed to by sending E1 to 77013. “

Those who want SMS services of prayer and Iftar timings and daily Ramadan activities can subscribe to Zain Bahrain’s Zajil Islam service by sending 7 to 77400 and to unsubscribe, they can send STOP7 to 77400.

This year too, Zain Bahrain is offering its very effective Ramadan Donation service where customers can donate via SMS to children with special needs. All that is required is to send 1 by SMS to 1111 and it will be deducted as a donation from your account.

“What’s more, Zain will double the amount every time you donate so that every dinar you send via SMS will become BD 2 by the time it reaches the charity,” Ms. Fatima Haidar explained.

In addition to all these, Zain Bahrain customers can download special Ramadan connecting tunes, songs, poems, ansheed, Quranic verses and more with Zain connecting tunes service. The selection also extends to a wide variety of religious tunes in Arabic, English and Indian languages and miscellaneous tunes. This service is available on 177 or through the website www.zain.com

As with all services, there will be a nominal charge for the Ramadan services also, ranging from 20 fils to 750 fils although the donation service is completely free of charge.
