in cooperation with the Ministry of Water and Electricity,Zain SA Participates in the Celebration of World Water Day

In a new addition to its rich records of serving the community, Zain KSA in cooperation with the Ministry of Water and Electricity participated in the celebration of World Water Day under the slogan "Coping With Water Shortage," on March 22 of each year as the company sponsored the celebrations organized by Little Stars Center on Sunday and Monday, Rabî Al-Awwal 25- 26, 1430 AH correspondent to March 22- 23, 2009 in its headquarters in Riyadh.

The celebration events, began under the auspices of Princess Lamia Bint Mish’al Bin Saud Al Saud, included the Theater of Little Stars and the presence of hundreds of guests in the singing play entitled "Qtorah" in which a number of the Center children participated. The ceremony also included a speech of Zain KSA, delivered by Dr Aziza Al Ahmadi Director of Special Projects, and a speech of Little Stars Centers Director Samira Saud Alsjae.

This movement comes as part of Zain KSA keenness to contribute to raising the level of social awareness and perception of the importance of dealing positively with the issue of water in the world in general and in the UK in particular through supporting government efforts to achieve its lofty goals aiming at ensuring the highest levels of awareness about the importance of water to the Saudi society and how to preserve it through the application of appropriate plans and strategies in this area.

Celebrating World Water Day is acquiring particular importance this year because it is coincided with the activation of the first week of Gulf Rationalization. Meanwhile, public and private institutions around the world pay great attention to improving the environment, combating pollution, and preserving the sources of drinking water in the face of aggravation of global water crisis, according to the latest economic reports.

Noticeably, Zain KSA contributed to the revitalization of public awareness in various fields and various ways by positively interacting, cooperating with and supporting competent authorities. The most important of these fields is enhancing awareness campaigns and activities on a continuous basis. Zain KSA participated in the celebration of International Day of Civil Defense earlier this month, and the national campaign for supporting organ donation program organized by the Ministry of Health, in addition to sponsoring Diabetes Awareness Campaign carried out by King Saud University, supporting Prince Sultan Second Campaign for health education, and effectively contributing to the success of completing vaccination program of the first grade students for the current academic year.
