Nawras quadruples 3G+ services with fourth Data Carrier

Mobilk - Following extensive planning and testing, Nawras has quadrupled its 3G+ mobile services with the launch of its fourth 3G+ Data Carrier for the first time in Oman. Nawras customers in Al Amerat, and Naseem Gardens were among the first ones to benefit from this rich online experience during the Muscat festival. This service is planned to cater to huge mobile traffic demands and ensure an excellent online experience. 

Nawras customers at Sultan Qaboos University have also recently benefited from this enhancement and early statistical analysis shows a significant improvement in the customer experience. Nawras will extend this service alongside its countrywide Turbocharging programme to ensure contiguous fast broadband and to boost the customer experience across those areas with high data traffic.

Wolfgang Wemhoff, Nawras Chief Technology Officer, said, “Nawras would like to extend its gratitude to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) for their continued support and for allowing us to progress with our nationwide network modernisation programme. Enhanced communications is vital for the Sultanate’s development and we are committed to seeing this through.”

As the first operator in Oman to introduce the third 3G+ carrier back in May 2013 across the Muscat governorate, we are now very proud to be the first to extend our 3G+ service even further by introducing the fourth 3G+ carrier.”
