Qtel brought its “Fuel Your Senses” campaign to Umm Al-Quraa School for Boys in Al-Dafna, where over 200 young children enjoyed a fun-filled programme of music, singing, and games.
The visit took place in the school’s indoor basketball court, where a large stage, strobe lights, a music system consisting of multiple digital instruments and a keyboard, and a bottomless bag of Qtel games and prizes awaited the children.
The visit kicked off with a welcome from the school’s Activities Coordinator and then the teamed comedians, Abdulla and Abdulaziz, aided by musician Issa Daoud, took over.
The programme included remarks from Qtel City Centre and Hamad Hospital Branch Managers and several Internet City Supervisors, all of whom interacted with the host-comedians as they orchestrated games and activities for the children.
From singing the Qatari national anthem and other songs at the top of their lungs, to face-painting, to contests involving balloons, coloured rugs, and “brain-teasing” questions, the young students participated in a range of activities designed to keep them attentive, active and thinking.
School Vice-Principal Fatima Al-Hamadi said, “This visit is helpful for us, because it motivates the children. When business people in our community share their time and resources with the children, and demonstrate their interest in the school, the students take notice. It has a big impact on them.”
Qtel is hosting a series of events at schools, colleges and public locations all across Qatar as part of its “Fuel Your Senses” campaign, which comes with a refreshed new look for Qtel, built around a shared sense of energy, pride and purpose.
The school visits are a collaboration between the Qtel Shops and the Community Relations Department, bringing together staff from various Qtel locations to share their time and interest with the children of Qatar. In 2010.
The team has visited six schools – Omar Bin Al-Khattab School for Boys (Al-Dafna), Ibn Seena School for Boys (Al-Duhail), Saud Bin Abdulrahman (Al-Wakra), Ali Bin Abdulla School for Boys (Al-Rayyan), Al-Wukair School for Boys (Al-Wukair) and Al-Khansa School for Girls (Dahl Al-Hamam) – with more “Fuel Your Senses” events for school-children to come
