To celebrate Mobinils 10 Million Subscribers Milestone

At a ceremony attended by Eskandar Shalaby, Mobinil’s President & CEO, along with the company’s top officials, Didier Lombard presented a special award to Khadeja Khaled Moustafa (18 years), the mobile operator’s number 10 million subscriber.

Also during his stay, France Telecom’s top official participated in the opening ceremony of Mobinil’s Nile City shop at the company’s new premises, the last of a 26-shop network spread out all over the country.

During his visit, Didier Lombard will be meeting with Dr. Ahmad Nazif, Egypt’s Prime Minister and Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications & Information Technology.

Mobinil’s ten-million-subscriber milestone is the latest in a series of important achievements, including international awards, marketing innovations, customer service stunts and technological breakthroughs, which have thus for enabled the company to retain the unique position of Egypt’s number one mobile operator since its inception in May 1998.

France Telecom, one of the world's leading telecommunications operators, serves almost 160 million customers on five continents (220 countries or territories) as of December 31, 2006, of which two thirds are Orange customers.

Didier Lombard joined France Telecom In February 2003 as Senior Executive Vice President in charge of Technologies, Strategic Partnerships and New Usages. On Feb. 27, 2005, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of France Telecom.
