Etisalat and Department of Finance Abu Dhabi launch Payment Consolidator for Abu Dhabi Government Departments

The Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi announced the launch of a comprehensive Payment Consolidator aimed at processing payments for various Abu Dhabi Government Departments. The Payment Consolidator developed by etisalat will consolidate different payments from all departments and integrate it online with the Department of Finance’s (DOF) financial systems.

Customs department first department to go live
Abu Dhabi ,January 23 ,2007 : The Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi announced the launch of a comprehensive Payment Consolidator aimed at processing payments for various Abu Dhabi Government Departments.

The Payment Consolidator developed by etisalat will consolidate different payments from all departments and integrate it online with the Department of Finance’s (DOF) financial systems. National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Union National Bank have joined hands with Department of Finance and etisalat to offer payment authorization and settlement services to support this Payment Consolidator solution. Through this , customers will be able to pay online for services from various government departments using their credit cards and bank accounts. Going forward, there will be additional banks joining this initiative to offer more choices to the Departments’ customers. As a first step, the Customs Department will be the first to go live with this solution.

A two days session in Abu Dhabi organised by the Customs Department started yesterday, to educate customers and clearing & forwarding agents on how to make real-time online payment using the Payment Platform. The session includes an overview by etisalat on the Payment Consolidator and its security features followed by a live demo conducted by Department Of Finance Abu Dhabi . The Payment Consolidator will provide greater efficiencies for the Department of Finance and Government Departments.

In order to give the Department of Finance a consolidated view of payments, the Payment Consolidator will support various payment modes such as Credit Cards, Debit Card, BizDirect (bank account).
