uberX comes to Abu Dhabi

Your ride just got better and more affordable

Mobilk - Abu Dhabi residents and visitors get reprieve from daily commuting woes as Uber, the international smartphone app that seamlessly connects passengers with a private driver, launches its lower cost option uberX  in the capital. The new product promises to deliver safe, convenient, and reliable transportation services in Abu Dhabi at an even more affordable price point than its current UberBLACK offering. 

uberX  joins the existing UberBLACK service, launched in Abu Dhabi in December 2013, making it even easier to commute across the city in times of heavier traffic and limited parking options. 

With the launch, uberX is giving 20% off on all uberX rides in Abu Dhabi by entering the code “UBERXINAD” from now until the end of September.

JP Mondalek, Uber’s general manager for the UAE said:

“It’s official, uberX is here in Abu Dhabi! We’re excited to be giving Abu Dhabi residents and visitors another choice in transportation around the city, especially as traffic picks up again with the post-summer rush. The win for riders is obvious: lower fares make Uber more accessible to more people when they need it the most. The win is also two-fold - as we’ve seen in other cities, offering differently priced products allows us to partner with a greater supply of transportation providers. We will continue to monitor this marketplace to ensure that we are offering the Abu Dhabi community more choice and more value when it comes to their daily transportation needs.”

uberX is one of Uber’s products that connects riders with licensed drivers by partnering with the existing supply of transportation providers in Abu Dhabi. Any person who needs a ride has to download the free Uber app onto their smartphone (iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry) or sign up at uber.com/app to request a private-hire car at an affordable price, all in a matter of minutes. Just choose uberX within the app and order a ride. All payments are done via the riders’ credit cards, making the experience even more seamless. 

In addition to providing more choice for consumers, Uber also aims to help transportation providers grow their business by making drivers’ time more efficient.

Uber is already present in over 200 cities in 45 countries.
