Throughout last weekend’s holy season of Eid Al-Adha, representatives of Vodafone Qatar could be seen all over the city, distributing sweets and prizes for children and adults alike in over 2,000 giveaway boxes.

The spirit of giving continued with Vodafone’s donation of QR 10,000 to provide meat from the Eid Al-Adha sacrifice to over 600 needy families in the area.  Vodafone gave to its customers as well, as visitors to Vodafone Qatar retail stores were able to choose from a wide range of handsets at up to 50% off their original price.

Vodafone’s festivities culminated in with the Eid Al-Adha festival in Al Khor – sponsored by Vodafone Qatar in partnership with Al Khor Sport Club and Qatar Charity, this family-oriented event featured three days of prizes, games, and Vodafone giveaways.

For Vodafone’s online shop, however, the spirit of Eid Al-Adha is far from over.

Throughout the holiday, online customers could take advantage of an innovative new approach to charitable giving through Vodafone’s Online Fundraising (www.vodafone.com.qa/donate), which provides new and existing customers an easy opportunity to donate money to Qatar Red Crescent’s Patients Relief Fund right from the Vodafone Qatar online store.  While the holiday may be behind us, this method of supporting the community will continue to be available, with no purchase required to make a donation.

Likewise, online customers continue to have an opportunity to give back to the community – and give a little something to themselves as well – when they reserve special Star Numbers and My Numbers at www.vodafone.com.qa.  These attractive numbers are available at 50% of their original price, with proceeds benefitting Vodafone’s support of Reach Out to Asia, until December 6.

“Since the launch of our services early this year, Vodafone Qatar has received an astounding welcome from the people of this country,” Grahame Maher, CEO of Vodafone Qatar, said of these extensive activities.  “Eid Al-Adha is a time of giving, and we are thrilled to give back to a community that has made us feel so very much at home.”
