Students participating in Huawei’s ‘Seed for the Future’ receive awards at the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis For Future Generations Summit
Huawei recognized the students’ projects during prestigious two-day event in Abu Dhabi

Mobilk - Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider, today recognized student teams who took part in its ‘Seeds for the Future’ program, at the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis For Future Generations Summit, being held on 7 & March in Abu Dhabi. The program has provided ICT training to hundreds of UAE students since it launched in 2008.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the Summit is a unique opportunity for Emirati students to spend two days meeting Leadership from the UAE government, entrepreneurs, champions of innovation and future leaders of the UAE. The Summit is attended by more than 3,000 students from across the UAE and is attended by the highest echelon of leadership from the UAE.

Dr. Ahmad Belhoul, Minister of State for Higher Education. “Seeds for the Future in particular, is a unique platform for university students to explore opportunities in ICT, a sector that is key to the UAE’s growth and development. The program not only offers our future graduates a meaningful experience but also the opportunity to cultivate the skills necessary to be more competitive in the information age.”

Huawei showcased the 15 ICT projects that were developed by six UAE universities as part of the program at its stand at the event, with three of the projects receiving awards and prizes from the TRA’s ICT Fund, and were presented to the students in presence of H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul, Minister of State for Higher Education; H.E. Shamma Al Mazrui, UAE Minister of State for Youth Affairs; and H.E. Majed Al Mesmar, Deputy Director General of Telecommunications Sector, TRA.

Huawei was also a key partner at the Summit and participant in the interactive programs held within the summit at ‘The Hub’, a creative, interactive zone designed to give students ideas and perspectives for how to improve their knowledge. Huawei’s ‘Build New Technology Prototypes’ display showcased a number of innovative prototypes where students can learn and interact with, as well as vote for their favorite prototype.
Launched in 2008, “Seeds for the Future” is Huaweis flagship CSR program that aims at cultivating local ICT talent, promoting knowledge transfer, improving peoples interest in and understanding of the ICT industry, and encouraging countries and regions to participate in the building of digital communities.
