As part of its Business Loyalty Program, and for the third consecutive year, the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil) was the sole host of The Night of the Ad Eaters, which was held at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza on 7 July 2009, for its high value Business subscribers to experience the latest advertising trends worldwide.
The Night of the Ad Eaters was a spectacular all night celebration of amazing, intriguing, shocking, and funny commercials from 50 countries representing the vitality, creativity, and trends present in the world of advertising today. The show reel was drawn from the Jean Marie Boursicot Cinmatheque library by Mobinil to suit Egypts market orientation, and culture. Screening took place in the elegant Plaza Ballroom, which was furnished with comfortable sofas, and equipped with a mega screen.
The extravagant event accommodated 500 marketers from Mobinils multinational corporate accounts, who screened an array of diverse advertisements from Europe, America, Africa, and Asia to assist them in developing new ideas, and techniques for the advertising market in Egypt. This is in line with Mobinils Enterprise Market Departments strategy in developing enterprise business in Egypt, and helping its business partners succeed.
Al Haya TV, Rotana, OTV, Dream, and Al Waseet TV satellite channels covered the entire event, and conducted interviews with Mobinil top management, marketers, advertising representatives, and media professionals.
Mobinil Chairman Mr. Alex Shalaby welcomed the valued guest by stating, "It is a great honor to be associated with such a wonderful program, with every one of you, and the companies you represent."
Mobinil VP Enterprise Market Mr. Magdy Gabra shared the departments strategy with the guests by stating, "Mobinil is hosting The Night of the Ad Eaters, for the third time in Egypt, and the focus here is actually to help you get ideas, and to use your budgets as effective as possible in these challenging times."
It is important to note that Jean Marie Boursicot created The Night of the Ad Eaters in 1981 (France), and it quickly grew into a worldwide phenomenon. He has managed to compile the Jean Marie Boursicot Cinmatheque, which is the only film library in the world dedicated to TV and cinema commercials. This privately owned library contains more than 800,000 commercials from all around the world, and even includes an ad that dates back to 1898.
