The rumor mills have confirmed that launch of Apples mobile operating system, iOS 5, might be delayed. Contrary to the earlier strategic moves of Apple, this move has raised many eyebrows.
Many industry experts believe that Apple is likely to keep the product off the shelf until fall and further asserted that any stipulated delay of iOS does not conform to the fact that new Apple hardware will be delayed more.
Responding to the news, FBR Capital Markets Analyst, Craig Berger said, For the iPhone 5, we continue to hear that a July launch is unlikely, with various casing suppliers and touch suppliers still ramping up, with some chip vendors not having yet received firm iPhone 5 orders, and with other sockets like the image sensor (most likely going to Omnivision exclusively, but with some potential for Sony to split that socket) still in flux”.
The official sources have confirmed that the iOS 5 will be a classic example of cloud-based applications and support which includes a music locker-type service and a location service for tracking friends and family members. However, there are many people who believe that Apple might launch iOS 5 along with a new version of Apples iPad.
Moreover, Apple is expected to show a preview of iOS at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in the month of June.
