Huawei Recognized as “Middle East Vendor of the Year” at CommsMEA Awards 2012

Mobilk - Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, was honored this week as “Middle East Vendor of the Year” during the seventh edition of the CommsMEA Awards 2012—a forum recognizing those that have helped turn the region’s telecommunications sector into one of the most dynamic and vibrant in the world.  

Taking home the award for four years running, the recognition acknowledges Huawei’s ongoing industry leadership for exceeding its clients’ expectations on the delivery of projects in the Middle East. The esteemed judging panel also noted the high level of innovation behind various Huawei projects and their deployment, as well as the wide-reaching benefits to local operators.

Huawei currently serves more than one third of the world’s population in over 140 countries worldwide. Within the Middle East, Huawei has been active for more than a decade with ten regional offices that today include over 3,500 employees responsible for more than $3 billion in contract sales last year alone.

Within the last year Huawei has pioneered a number of industry firsts within the telecom sector partnering with leading operators. These projects include the first commercial Service Delivery Platform (SDP) in the Middle East as well as advancing 4G LTE projects in countries such as UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. The company has also invested in the further development of its Consumer and Enterprise Business Groups in the Middle East, positioning itself as a true end-to-end partner within the ICT realm.
