Mobilk - a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has unveiled a new portfolio of Beyond LTE technology anticipated to raise industry benchmarks by significantly increasing peak rates that are over 20 times faster than existing commercial LTE networks.
Huawei’s Beyond LTE technology achieves peak rates of up to 30Gbps and features key breakthroughs in antenna structure, radio frequency architecture, IF (intermediate frequency) algorithms, and multi-user MIMO (multi-input / multi-output). Such innovations ultimately offer considerable improvements to mobile communications systems including higher spectrum efficiency and wider spectrum aggregation.
“Mobile networks are developing at an unprecedented rate,” notes David Wang, president of Huawei’s Wireless Network Business Unit. “Future technologies will bring revolutionary advances in network evolution, and our Beyond LTE technology really does signify the future of mobile broadband.”
The unveiling of Beyond LTE follows shortly after Huawei’s release of the industrys first ultra broadband full-outdoor (FO) microwave product with a capacity of up to 2 Gbit/s over a single carrier frequency. Delivering zero-footprint access for a multitude of micro base stations, Huawei’s RTN FO provides multiple GE ports allowing for flexible network scalability, and is part of a new product line-up to help operators construct advanced networking microwave backhaul.
Last-mile mobile access in the LTE era is characterized by greater bandwidth and high-density deployment of tail-end equipment—such as micro base stations. While high-density deployment poses challenges for operators, including site selection, engineering installation, and high maintenance costs, these challenges can be easily solved by a full-outdoor microwave.
Huawei’s innovation in the LTE space has been increasing over the past several years and across the globe, including a recent selection to build the first LTE network in London which will also be the first LTE TDD 3.5GHz deployment in the world.
According to recent data from the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), Huawei has had 265 LTE/LTE-A Core specifications approved since 2010, which is 20% of the total number approved and the most out of any other company in the industry.
