Mobilk - In line with the Dubai government’s vision of making Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world, Huawei and Intel Corporation today announced a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to introduce solutions that enable smarter buses and promote the uptake of smart transport.
Intel will enable the solution with its X86 platform in Huawei’s IoT gateway designed for the Smart Bus Solution. This will allow a multitude of smart services including in-vehicle video surveillance, accurate passenger tracking, emergency services communication, real-time health data analysis of the vehicle and multi-media services for passenger entertainment.
The Smart Bus is showcased at Intel’s Ignition Lab in Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre (DTEC) located in Dubai Silicon Oasis, will help address the evolving public transportation needs including school buses, public buses, law enforcement and emergency response vehicles.
The collaboration between Huawei and Intel will foster innovation through building a rich IoT ecosystem in Dubai. It aims to reduce costs and resource consumption, engage more effectively with people in the community, and enhance performance and public wellbeing through advanced IoT deployments.
Huawei Smart Bus Solution is part of its Smart City Solutions that deliver expertise in end-to-end network planning and the development of cutting-edge technologies. These include mobile broadband infrastructure and communication technology to niche industry applications and data center innovations. Today, Huawei has deployed an extensive range of Mobile Broadband technology including 4G (LTE) across the world for nearly 40 telecom operators in Asia, the Middle East, North America, South America, Western Europe, Russia and Africa.
Huawei has maintained its leadership in the market through innovation in delivering new ICT solutions and its focus on customer-centricity.
