Mobilk - As parts of its efforts to support local youth, Microsoft Jordan organized on Monday 28 September, 2014, a Microsoft Academy for College Hires (MACH) event. Held at the Grand Hyatt Amman Hotel, the event hosted 21 fresh graduates who were nominated by their university deans and professors to enroll in the MACH program, which aims to cultivate talent through training, mentoring and community support.
The MACH event featured a session delivered by Microsoft Jordan Country Manager Hussein Malhas and Microsoft HR Lead in North Africa, East Mediterranean and Pakistan (NEPA) Heba Tantawi. The session was geared towards educating the students about Microsoft as a whole, in addition to its citizenship and MACH programs.
The event was followed by one-on-one interviews with each of the 21 fresh graduates to shortlist the eligible candidates who will qualify to participate in the MACH program. As part of the program, the selected graduates will take part in a four-month training course where they will learn more about and shadow various positions within Microsoft Jordan.
MACH is an accelerated career development program designed to recruit and hire top-performing university graduates across a broad range of professional roles. It also presents them with the chance to receive world-class training and coaching from some of the brightest minds in Microsoft Middle East and Africa (MEA).
“Hosting a MACH event is closely aligned with our goal to provide young individuals across the Kingdom with the opportunity to hone their skills and excel in their professional careers. It also corresponds with our ongoing commitment to supporting the national plan for advancing education and enhancing employment rates. The MACH event was a great method of educating the graduates about the program, which will allow them to become part of a global community of over 1,800 MACH peers in 60 countries worldwide,” commented Malhas.
In turn, Tantawi stated, “MACH invests in young graduates who are passionate and motivated to learn, grow and make an impact. For organizations such as Microsoft that strive to benefit from fresh talent that brings innovative ideas, energy and creativity, Jordan has proven to be a great choice.”
Commenting on their participation in the MACH event, the fresh graduates, who were both male and female, thanked Microsoft Jordan for the opportunity to learn more about what the MACH program has to offer, and expressed their excitement at potentially becoming part of the Microsoft community.
