with the support of Rotana,Zain Jordan launches a world of entertainment services

Zain Jordan, part of the Zain Group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, announced today the official launch of its comprehensive data services through its ‘Zain Create’ website for its customers. The service has already been launched in Kuwait and Bahrain and will soon be available to customers of all Zain operations within the Group. 

The content offered by Zain to its customers will include various entertainment services comprising, at this stage, a large entertainment library. The website will later include songs, poetry, and games in addition to other services to be available to Zain customers through the internet as well as their mobile phones.

The Zain Group had recently signed an exclusive agreement with the pan-Arab audio-video giant; Rotana Holding Group, to make the latter’s digital entertainment productions available exclusively to Zain customers. Through the new Zain Create service, the partnership agreement will allow Zain’s customers to conveniently download entertainment from Rotana Media.

On the occasion, Zain Jordan’s CEO Dr. Ahmed Al Shatti said: “Zain is continuously looking to offer the best and the latest there is to its customers. With this new service, we will provide our customers with a wide online window through which they can enjoy the latest artistic works of all famous Arab singers and musicians”.
Al Shatti explained how the region’s telecommunications sector has witnessed many developments over the past few years, adding that that fast-paced developments in the IT industry have made digital entertainment essential by mobile phone users.

Al Shatti added: "Mobile phones are no longer restricted to making and receiving calls, but are increasingly becoming a platform for expressing an entire modern lifestyle, be it for business or pleasure.  With ‘Zain Create,’ the bilateral partnership with Rotana will cater to the entertainment needs of a wide spectrum of our customers in Jordan, making a wonderful world for them."

Customers in Jordan will be able to download music as full tracks – through their mobile phones or their personal computers – either via the company’s website www.zain.com and then choosing the "Zain create" option, or through the WAP service via their mobile phones.

What distinguishes this service is that it is being offered for the first time in the Middle East. “Zain Create offers customers the original copy of their favorite artistic work, and in a safe way” said Al Shatti, adding that users will enjoy a high quality of voice and sound as opposed to pirated versions.

During the second phase, the exclusive partnership agreement between Zain and Rotana will soon be extended to include other Zain operations in the Middle East. The service currently offers audio songs files and will be extended to include video clip downloads and other mobile content in the future.

Al Shatti noted that Zain customer will be the first to enjoy the Rotana collection through the service before it is released in the market. He added that the downloads are available and can be downloaded in different sizes which is suitable to the handset carried by the customers, be it a computer or a mobile device (Nokia – Sony- Ericsson – and soon BlackBerry) in order to ensure high quality.

Zain in Jordan will offer its customer free downloads with the value of JD 5 per Zain Create user and before the end of this month.
