for the first time in Jordan,Zain Jordan Begins offering 8 MB internet services

Zain, part of the Zain group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, began to offer 8 MB internet services to customers for the first time in Jordan.

With the service, all Zain internet service customers were able to enjoy high speed internet service.

Zain internet services Manager Abdallah Faza said that the company was a pioneer in offering the new service. Fazaa added that the service represents a big leap in the provision of internet services being offered to customers in Jordan.

The new service will help serve the needs of customers by facilitating the internet experience and allowing users to gather information in a very speedy and efficient manner.

Fazaa further commented that offering such service represents a step that is in line with the Zain’s goals to play a leading role in the industry in terms of offering the latest and most advanced internet services. Furthermore, the company is a leader in transferring data by providing regular updates to internet service around Jordan as well as providing the latest of what internet technology has to offer.

Zain seeks to have a major contribution in spreading internet services and increasing its penetration in Jordan in accordance with His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives in transcending to a knowledge-based economy. The company offers internet services and comprehensive solutions for both businesses and domestic clients in addition to being the main internet service provider for a number of universities in Jordan.

Fazaa added that the local internet market is amongst the most advanced in the region with the Jordanian telecommunications regulatory committee preparing, during the  past few years, a competitive environment that allows the service to be provided to customers in high efficiency and moderate prices. He also noted that having one company monopolizing the infrastructure of internet services, in this case Jordan telecom, is the biggest challenge faced by companies that offer internet services.

Fazaa also encouraged the government to support the demands that has to do with the relationship between internet service providers with Jordan Telecom, most notably providing the service of local loop unbundling and allowing all service providers to access information and the data base relating to its ADSL customers which is only available to the service provider related to Jordan Telecom.

Zain currently provides various internet speed services including 4 and 6 megabytes.
