Zain, part of the Zain group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, signed an agreement with the Military Consumer Establishment (MCE). The agreement entails linking the MCE Directorate with its commercial markets and main warehouses through a private communication network provided by Zain internet services.
The agreement was signed by CEO Dr. Abdel Malik Al Jaber on behalf of Zain, and the General Director Brigadier General Eng. Ali Saleh Al Jazzazi on behalf of MCE.
Through the communication network, MCE will be directly linked to 76 markets and warehouses located around the Kingdom. The service will contribute primarily in supporting the institution's activities and facilitating data exchange with high speed and efficiency.
On the occasion, Al Jaber said: “the communications sector has an important role in contributing to increasing the effectiveness of institutions and companies operating in Jordan by offering the services that facilitate their activities and support their operations”, adding that the company looks at MCE and all its markets with great interest due to their major role in serving the various sectors of the community and alleviating the economic burden off of citizens.
Al Jaber further noted that Zain offers internet services and comprehensive interconnection solutions to the business sector on top of offering internet services for homes, indicating that the company strives to contribute in spreading internet services in the Kingdom in accordance with the direction of King Abdullah II in focusing on moving to a knowledge-based economy.
From his side, Brig. Gen. Eng. Al Jazzazi said that the agreement serves the interest of citizens who benefit from the institution's service and its transparency. He added that the MCE takes pride in the fact that Zain won this bid, given the company’s long standing contribution in supporting the national economy as well as developing the local information technology sector in accordance with the directions of His Majesty the Supreme Commander of the Jordanian Armed Forces King Abdulla II.
Moreover, MCE General Director said that this agreement will serve MCE in terms of speed of information delivery, cutting back on time and effort while increasing accuracy of information and developing a centralized control over price changes. Through the agreement, the MCE will also be able to monitor the sales of commercial markets through the available surveillance cameras and link them with this directorate, monitor their adherence to working times and provide easier access to the information needed for statistics with speed and accuracy.
