Nawras is platinum sponsor of Muscat Regatta 2012

Mobilk - For the second year running, Nawras is proud to be sponsoring the Muscat Regatta taking place from 22 to 23 November 2012. This exciting, competitive event provides opportunities for aspiring Omani sailors to take their place alongside the professionals to compete in a series of spectacular races. 

This year the Regatta begins with a Dubai to Muscat race and continues with an Inshore Regatta at Marina Bandar Al Rowdha before the final race from Muscat to Khasab. 

“Nawras is proud to support the Muscat Regatta which has become one of Oman’s major sporting events in the space of just four years,” said Ross Cormack. “This Regatta will see the best of our Omani sailors battle it out against an international field as they test their stamina and sailing skills.” 

He added, “The event draws attention to Oman’s rich seafaring history and the country’s natural beauty. We are looking forward to cheering on the participants and joining with the crowds of spectators to watch the thrilling races. We will have a special interest in seeing who wins the Nawras Cup in the dinghy class and the IRC Class.” 

Nawras has consistently shown support for a variety of major sporting occasions like the Ministry of Sports’ Summer Sports programme and importantly, also lends its weight to many smaller sports clubs and local community events. These cover a wide variety of activities including tennis, cricket, sailing, bowling, volleyball, football and camel racing. 

The company chose two significant sporting figures as its brand ambassadors. Nawras is proud to count Oman’s national team’s goalkeeper and Premier League player, Ali Al Habsi, as a valued member of its family. Taking equal pride of place is Racing Champion Ahmad Al Harthy, one of the Middle East’s most talented sportsmen as well as this season’s reigning 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Pro-Am1 champion.
