Following the successful introduction of electronic billing over the course of the last few months, VIVA customers are encouraged to complete their transition to e-billing if they haven’t already done so. Customers who sign up for e-billing before paper bills are completely phased out on Jan 1st, 2012, will receive a five per cent discount on a month’s bill.
The revamped system has been introduced in a bid to improve customer experience and streamline the billing and payment process, allowing customers to access and pay their bills online whenever they please. The service, which comes into full effect for all VIVA customers on Jan 1st, 2012, in effect replaces traditional paper bills sent by post with more efficient, convenient and environmentally-friendly e-bills on the VIVA website.
The improved billing system utilizes VIVA’s online self-care portal, which allows registered users to view and download their bills as soon as they are issued, analyse usage statistics, edit personal information, and pay bills using a debit or credit card. VIVA customers can now access and pay their bills as soon as they are issued and from the comfort of their homes or offices, without having to queue in shops. The self-care portal offers detailed usage statistics to help customers understand their consumption of voice, data and SMS services with the help of easy-to-read graphs and tables. Users can also access previous bills and monitor their expenditure.
Paperless billing also creates less mail clutter and paper waste, leading to more environmentally responsible corporate and consumer behaviour. However, customers who still require detailed paper bills may obtain them from any of VIVA’s shops for a nominal charge.
“E-billing carries many advantages over paper billing, and it’s definitely the way forward,” commented Andrew Hanna, VIVA CCO. “Most of us already pay our water and electricity bills online and this is no different. It has the benefits of ease and convenience, in addition to reducing waste. We’re also offering a 5 per cent discount on a month’s bill for everyone who signs up during December,” he added.
To sign up for e-billing, users are directed to the VIVA website at viva.com.bh, where they will be able to register their details and opt for electronic billing using the online registration form, which will be available starting Monday, December 12th. Registered customers will then receive an email explaining how to activate e-billing for their mobile and broadband numbers. In addition, customers signing up for the service within the first month will receive a 5 per cent discount on their next bill.
