BlackBerry Express Server for Small Businesses Available Free of Charge
Batelco, Bahrain’s largest Blackberry services provider has announced its introduction of the Blackberry Enterprise Server version 5.0, the first telecom company in the Kingdom to deliver this enhanced communications service for its business customers. Batelco is also providing the ‘Free of charge’ BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Express in the Bahrain market.
Batelco is an authorised partner of RIM (Research in Motion), the designer and manufacturer of Blackberry products and services, for the Bahrain market.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0 is the next generation of RIM’s secure, push-based server software for business mobility. Version 5.0 supports advanced IT administration features and Smartphone controls that help improve the productivity of mobile workers and more effectively meet the demands of large-scale, mission critical enterprise deployments.
Engineered for mission critical environments, business customers using the cutting-edge service gain built-in availability, powerful new administrative features, efficient monitoring tools and advanced security in a platform that can grow with a company’s needs.
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server is designed to be a secure, centralised link between an organisation’s wireless network, communications software, applications, and BlackBerry devices. The service empowers all BlackBerry users in an organisation with wireless access to their corporate email.
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server integrates with an organisations existing infrastructure, which can include messaging and collaboration software, calendar and contact information, wireless Internet and intranet access, and custom applications, to provide BlackBerry device users with mobile access to their company’s resources.
“The BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 significantly raises the bar for advanced IT manageability, high availability, system monitoring and reporting. It also provides a cost-effective solution to provide mobile data connectivity for all employees without compromising security or manageability,” said Batelco’s GM of Products and Services Adel Al Daylami.
Batelco is also introducing the new ‘Free of charge’ BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Express, the ideal solution for small to medium businesses (SMB’s) suitable for up to 75 BlackBerry users. The new server software enables BlackBerry smartphones to be wirelessly and securely synchronised with Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Windows Small Business Servers.
“BES Express offers economical advantages for SMBs that desire the enterprise-grade security and manageability of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 but don’t require all of its advanced features,” added Mr. Al Daylami.
“Furthermore, as more and more consumers purchase BlackBerry devices, the demand is growing for a cost-effective solution that enables IT departments to meet employees’ requests to be able to connect their personal smartphones to their work email.”
A key advantage of the new BES Express software is that it utilises the same robust security architecture that is found in the BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0, thus delivering mobile connectivity without compromising security or manageability.
BES Express may be installed on the same server as Microsoft Exchange or Windows Small Business Server or on a separate server.
Batelco’s Business customers are invited to contact their designated Batelco Account Manager or Batelco Business Centre on 17 881144 for further details about either the BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 or the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express.
