Batelco has been rewarded by the Bahrain Deaf Society for the Company’s ongoing support to enhance the society’s aims.
The award was presented to a Batelco representative at the official launch of the Deaf Society’s new website which took place under the patronage of the Minister of Social Development, Fatima al Balooshi. Assistant Undersecretary for Social Care Baderya Al Jeeb, who represented Mrs. Al Balooshi at the event, rewarded a number of deaf students who had completed a special computer course.
Batelco has been supporting the Bahrain Deaf Society since the society was formed, as part of the company’s social responsibility to assist charitable establishments in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Bahrain Deaf Society, which was officially established in 2007, aims to enhance the educational opportunities for hearing impaired people in Bahrain and assist them in becoming fully integrated into the community and lead full and productive lives. The Society works with both the government and private sectors to create job opportunities for this sector of the community.
