Nawras gives customers free SMS

Nawras, customer friendly communications provider, is marking its 5th anniversary in a pleasingly different way by thanking every customer with the gift of a free national SMS bundle. A celebratory event for the nawras family, customers and media took place outside the company’s main building in Al Athaiba while the occasion was also marked at the 22 nawras stores across the country where coffee and halwa was offered to all visitors.

 

Every one of the more than 1.8 million members of the fastest growing family in Oman is having their account credited on 16 March 2010 with a free SMS bundle to allow them to get closer to friends and family on the 5th anniversary. The number of free SMSs varies according to the number of years each customer has been with nawras and those who joined the fastest growing family in the first year will find their accounts credited with 50 free SMSs. This 5th anniversary gift can be used at any time over the next five days up until midnight on 21 March 2010

 

 

Led by chief executive officer Ross Cormack and chief operating officer Khalid Al-Mahmoud, the nawras family gathered under canvas to celebrate the milestone event in true Omani style. In their respective speeches, the duo expressed their heartfelt thanks to all nawras customers before wielding a traditional sword to cut the 200 kilogramme cake. The five-tiered creation was then handed out for all guests and delighted passersby to enjoy. The fun continued with the serving of a traditional Omani shuwa lunch before local musicians and dancers entertained the crowd with a rousing performance.

 

Welcoming everyone to the event, Ross Cormack said: “This is a very special day for the whole nawras family and it is thrilling to just stop for a moment and look back at how nawras has totally transformed the mobile telecommunications landscape in Oman over the last five years. We have listened carefully to our customers so we have been able to create a mobile experience that people in Oman really want. Customers have recognised that nawras has made it easier for them to buy and has given everyone thousands more convenient places to buy from. nawras has also changed how people get help and how they pay. We are all dedicated to living the customer experience every day.”

 

Khalid Al-Mahmoud added his thanks, by saying: “We are delighted to take this opportunity to thank our customers for choosing nawras and we are looking forward to continuing to serve them all in a pleasingly different way as we begin the next chapter of the nawras success story.
