Etisalat today hosted the GCC Telecom Human Resources Forum – 2010 the Yas Hotel Abu Dhabi and was attended by an assembly of experts from this sector.
Abdul Aziz Al Sawaleh, Chief Human Resources Officer at Etisalat, said: “Hosting this event highlights the importance Etisalat places in human resources management as the backbone for development and growth. This meeting is a great opportunity to discuss best practice and modern processes for developing and training staff for the benefit of the companies and overall economy.
“Etisalat has been focusing on training and developing its human resources in a way that suits the rapid development of the telecom sector. We established the Etisalat Academy which trains management and engineers in the telecom sector from Etisalat and other service providers. We also established the Etisalat University College which is the core of Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR). Additionally we send many of our employees for education and training across the world and this is only few examples from our care to our employees.”
Etisalat has developed many training and development programs that last for one and two years. Additionally, Etisalat organizes training programs for more than 6000 of its employees at the Etisalat Academy on top of external training courses and workshops in the UAE and abroad.
Many telecommunication companies from UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman are participating at the event. The forum aims to raise awareness of the importance of human resource in the telecom market and to exchange of experiences in the same field. A number of worksheets and discussions were presented at the forum.
