Etisalat today announced a reduction in call charges and text message rates to Haiti in order to lend their support in the wake of the earthquake that shook the nation recently. Etisalat customers can make phone calls or send SMS to check the safety of their loves ones or to contribute to earthquake relief organisations there, for a reduced charge of 99 fils per minute and 30 fils per message throughout the day.
Etisalat’s Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing explained that “Etisalat deeply cares for all its customers, and we are aware that some customers have been directly or indirectly impacted by the disaster in Haiti. While our thoughts go out to those in Haiti who are suffering so greatly at this time, our promise is to help people connect with those who matter most. There is no better time than now to demonstrate our commitment for those who need some relief in this hour. Etisalat is hoping to relieve family members of those distressed by the natural calamity by enabling phone calls at a 75% discounted rate starting today”.
