Mtc touch builds 150 new sites, upgrades existing ones

mtc touch, the leading mobile telecommunication company in Lebanon and ZAIN affiliate, has revealed the major elements of its network coverage enhancement and upgrade plan, expanding its network capacity to service up to 1.2 million customers. This comes soon after the company attained a milestone 1 million active customers reflecting a 57% market share in Lebanon.

As well as upgrading many existing sites across the country, mtc touch has also completed the implementation of 150 new sites nationwide. Designed to improve the quality of its network coverage, these new sites are located in Greater Beirut, the Beirut Central District (BCD), Sidon, Nabatiyeh, Jezzine, Byblos, Batroun, Tripoli, the Metn, Keserwan, the Chouf, Zahle and other parts of the Bekaa.

Furthermore, mtc touch has upgraded its Intelligent Network platform to host up to one million prepaid ‘magic’ customers alone, and accomplished the needed Core Network expansion. This is in line with the network expansion plan to service up to 1.2 million customers.

“The completion of these 150 new sites comes in compliance with the international quality standards in the field of mobile telecommunication services, exactly as agreed upon with the Ministry of Telecommunications. Knowing that we’re still working on implementing more sites that will be completed very soon” declared mtc touch General Manager Mr. Claude Bassil.
Bassil went on to praise the efforts of the mtc touch technical team of engineers and technicians. “They have shown a great deal of devotion in implementing the coverage enhancement and the network expansion,” he said. “They are working around the clock to finalize this project on schedule and ensure that our customers will enjoy an improved quality of coverage.”
