Under the High Patronage Of the Minister of Telecommunication Mr. Marwan Hamadeh mtc touch organized its annual Iftar to honor the Lebanese media
The Iftar was held on Thursday October 4th, 2007, at the Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel in Beirut, bringing together the representative of the Minister of Telecommunication in the Owners Supervisory Committee and Representative of Minister Hamadeh in the Iftar Mr. Gilbert Najjar, mtc touch General Manager Mr. Mohammad Shabib as well as an elite of prominent media and telecommunication figures.
In a welcoming speech to the guests, mtc touch General Manager Mr. Mohammad Shabib, thanked all the media for their continuous support to mtc touch since it was first established in 2004, reminding of the solid collaboration joining the company to the Ministry of telecommunication as well as to its loyal subscribers”. Mr. Shabib added: “we only seek to provide first-class performance and services while making use of constructive criticism to improve and develop our products so they can effectively and adequately cater to the needs of the Lebanese Market”.
On another level, Shabib announced that mtc touch has managed to lead the Lebanese telecommunication market referring to the results of a recent study undertaken by the Arab Advisors Group about the “Lebanon Cellular Market” which has shown that the company’s share has exceeded 52%. Shabib explained that this success goes back to the tremendous efforts invested by mtc touch highly qualified personnel.
Mtc touch General Manager also declared that “Lebanon’s Cellular market is ripe for privatization and liberalization as this will be highly beneficial to the sector which will witness a real reform and considerable progress. Privatization will also benefit to subscribers who will profit from more diversified services”.
The GM Speech was closured with the mentioning of the vast re-branding operation undertaken by MTC Group under the umbrella of Zain. Shabib stated: “MTC Group has re-branded by adopting a new corporate identity, ZAIN, which will allow all subsidiary companies in 22 countries of the Middle East and Africa to adopt a unified name and a strong Group image that will consolidate the group’s profile on the international scale. The re-branding operation is a main component of the group’s strategy; in this sense, Zain will help the group grow and expand while maintaining a high level of synchronization between all its operations. We hope that mtc touch will soon be able to join its sisters companies”.
Shabib’s word was followed by the screening of the TV advertisement prepared by ZAIN Group to familiarize the public opinion with the new brand and to introduce the Group’s new slogan and concept of mobile telephony using the voiceover of star actor Omar Al Sharif.
