Nawras, the Sultanate’s customer friendly communications provider, has signed a contract with international courier service DHL to provide the company with all their mobile telecommunication services. The signing ceremony which took place at the DHL office in Muscat, was attended by senior representatives of both companies including Henrik Norgaard, Nawras Chief Commercial Officer, and Mark Benton, Country Manager, DHL.
“We thank DHL for its trust in electing Nawras to provide its vital mobile communication needs, recognizing that Nawras with its world-class network, professional expertise, business solutions and customer friendly approach, is the ideal partner. We look forward to giving this worldwide brand leader our great value, pleasingly different service and excellent quality, particularly in the area of EDGE-based data options,” promised Henrik Norgaard.
Mark Benton responded, “DHL is in the process of upgrading its technologies worldwide to achieve higher efficiency, speed and cost savings. It requires a massive effort by our staff, but we are proud that we are progressing well and this important decision takes care of telecommunication concerns. In making our decision, we had several concerns related to upgrading our technologies and we wanted our network provider to understand them. We conducted a number of tests on the Nawras network and all the results were impressive. Nawras is a friendly partner. Their people are prompt in answering our questions and able to deliver what we are looking for.”
In choosing Nawras, DHL can look forward to benefiting from the technology of one of the world’s top Ericsson networks, benchmarked consistently highly in regular surveys. DHL decided to move to Nawras for several reasons, one of the most important being that Nawras offers a faster data service based on its EDGE network which will be used by DHL couriers to deploy handheld scanners. EDGE-based data communication with IP addresses is part of the DHL upgrade plan and naturally requires the capability of a reliable network to support it.
DHL maintains a stringent quality standard and was looking for a network provider who would be able to understand the associated security issues and provide the necessary network infrastructure.
Nawras offers customised business solutions with each business account receiving a personal account manager to take care of setting up the services and maintaining regular contact, providing new solutions as businesses evolve.
Nawras Business Solutions include Nawras Mobile Email, enabling customers to read emails, contact and calendar details on a moible phone while on the move; E-billing which gives a paperless accounting record of the company’s mobile usage and Closed User Group (CUG), a service for unlimited free calls within companies for a minimal, monthly fee.
Nawras has changed the telecommunications landscape in Oman and DHL is the latest company in a rapidly growing list, to recognise and embrace these advantages. The reliability and stability of Nawras’ world-class network technology together with the expertise and friendly professionalism of Nawras people, make a winning combination to address the communication challenges of today, tomorrow and beyond.
