Nawras welcomes Oman’s new football coach Gabriel Calderon

Nawras, the Sultanate’s customer friendly communications provider, took pleasure in welcoming the country’s newest football personality as he joined the more than 600,000 customers of the fastest growing family in Oman. The newly-arrived national football team coach, Gabriel Calderon was greeted at Nawras main office by Chief Operations Officer Khalid Al-Mahmoud, Chief Technical Advisor Sheikh Abdulla Al-Rawahy and Chief Technical Officer, Peter Rubeck.

Over refreshments Gabriel Calderon spoke of his previous postings, his career and his happiness to be in Oman with the national team. A presentation followed, with Khalid Al-Mahmoud warmly welcoming Gabriel Calderon to the country and specifically to Nawras.

“We are delighted that Gabriel Calderon has chosen to join the Nawras family and that he will now be able to enjoy our great value, pleasingly different service and excellent quality. We wish him every success in his new role and are delighted that he has selected Nawras to get closer to his colleagues, friends and family”, said Khalid Al-Mahmoud.

After time spent talking to the Nawras executives, the new coach was given a personal introduction to the customer services centre, and told about the support and help all Nawras customers enjoy from the caring, friendly and professional customer champions. The tour continued to the adjoining Nawras Store, where Gabriel Calderon was interested to view the latest products and services including the 3G demonstration.

Mr. Calderon is the latest high profile customer to join Nawras, and it was apparent that he felt at home in the Nawras board room where he commented on the posters featuring national goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi, the company’s well-known mobile number portability (MNP) ambassador. Discussing the great popularity of the Omani team, Gabriel Calderon learnt about the overwhelming response which greeted Ali Al Habsi’s visit to the Muscat Community Football League, organised for the children by Nawras.

An Omani company, Nawras has a history of playing an active role in society and has supported the national football team in a number of different ways, most recently during the G C Cup games in Qatar. Welcoming Gabriel Calderon is a sign of Nawras maintaining its encouragement of the national team and all those involved with it.
