It is easy now for Oman Mobile's customers, individuals and enterprises to follow up what is happening at home or at work location through 3G cameras any where. The service introduced by the company and supported by Oman Mobile's 3.5G network.
The introduction of the new mobile device endeavours to harness latest Mobile telecommunications technology to cater subscribers' needs and facilitate their daily life, where they can watch their houses and follow up functioning in their institutions through a mobile phone.
The service coincides with the beginning of the summer offers provided by Oman Mobile for its customers, thus it provides solutions to monitor and control their property while they are absent, through mobile phone in places covered by 3.5G service in the sultanate.
Salim bin Ali Al Nasseri, Senior Manager of Product Development at Oman Mobile said: the service is unique and distinctive wireless small camera and it is easy to use and to install. It works through mobile (Sim card) and can be placed at home, office or any place to watch the video and hear the sound clearly as well as talk with people who are present in front the camera. The subscriber can record the video and sound and also can shoot at night and place more than one camera in different places and control through one mobile phone only as well as could also save through (T-Flash) which is located inside the camera .
Al Nasseri said the service provides to control the camera remotely through mobile phone pressing on No (4) to manage the camera to the left direction, No (6) manage the camera to the right, No 2 to manage the camera to the top, No (8) to manage the camera to the bottom, No (7) to reduce the lighting and No (9) to increase the lighting and No (1) adjust the external zoom and No (3) to adjust the internal zoom and No (5) to reverse the image to 180 degrees.
Al Nasseri added: the privacy is available in the service and other people can not access through camera only if granted permission by the camera owner and each subscriber will be able to identify password contains (4) numbers. The subscriber is also eligible to control the list of telephone numbers that could communicate with them through camera without entering their passwords.
He said that the rate is affordable for all and the camera made of ZTE Company and it provides MF68 devices. Oman Mobile sells the camera at the cost of RO 98 and the cost during the peak is 59 baiza per minute for (Hayyak) subscribers and 49 baiza off peak. wherefore (Mada ) customers, the service costs 45 baiza at peak and 35 baiza off peak and (Mada-On) customers 35 baiza per minute for all times.
It is worth noting that the 3.5G services launched on 1st March 2009 and it is now available in Muscat governorate, Wilayat Sohar, Luwa Wilayat, Al Suaiq, Al Musandam, Barka, Al Sawadi and Al Batinah region, Al Sharqiyah region in wilayat Sur, Jalan bani bu Ali, Jalan bani bu Hassan, Sinaw, Dhofar governorate in Salalah, Al Hafa, Al Saada, Al Dharize, Central Market, Oqadain, Oqad, Al Balid archaeological area, Al Dhahirah region in Wilayat Ibri, Al dakhliyah region in Wilayat Nizwa, Manah, Al Hamra, Izki, wilayat Al Buraimi in Al Buraimi governorate, and will expand gradually through the Sultanate.
