Cairo: Under the patronage of HE Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Mohammed Hassan Omran, Chairman of Etisalat, Etisalat Academy has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Telecommunication Institute in Egypt to launch a joint training programme for the Middle East and North Africa regions
The training programme is designed to support and develop employee competencies and the professional skills of fresh graduates and employees from both the government and private sectors through specialized conferences and forums focusing on technology, information security, e-learning, and 3G networks using the most advanced approaches and methods of training and assessment.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager Etisalat Academy, and Dr. Ahmed El Sherbini, Director of the National Telecommunication Institute. Witnessing the signing were Mohammed Hassan Omran, Chairman of Etisalat, Jamal Al Sadat, Chairman of Etisalat Misr, Ali Al Sharid, Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Services, Saleh Abdouli, Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Misr, and a number of other executives and senior officials.
HE Dr. Tarek Kamel said: "The signing of the agreement comes at a time when we are working towards a continuous professional development strategy through strategic partnerships with a number of prominent regional organizations, to support the creation of a knowledge-driven society. The strategy mainly focuses on enhancing the skills of workers in various economic sectors, as well as those of new graduates entering the work force, and providing them with the necessary skills to meet the challenges in the digital era."
Dr. Ahmed El Sherbini said: “The partnership between the Institute and the Academy follows the Institute’s adoption of latest methodologies and integrated educational systems, and investment in academic and practical training programmes for the development and qualification of human cadres to enter the telecommunications, information technology and software markets confidently. The launch of our programmes in collaboration with the Academy sets apart the Institute."
Dr. Fares said: "We are happy to enter into this partnership on strength of our sophisticated resources in fields such as communications, information technology, marketing, and quality management, all backed by advanced multimedia content that can be used by our partners for their development programmes across career specialisations. We are happy that this partnership with the Institute will also launch many of the popular e-learning initiatives.”
“This step is complementary to many partnerships that the Academy has entered into with institutes and universities in the USA, Canada and the UK, along with a number of specialized institutes of the United Nations. The Academy has already been involved in several successful initiatives in the Sultanate of Oman, Syria, Sudan, Yemen and Jordan as well as other countries in the GCC" , he added.
